J. Michael Waters

Michael practices in the Firm’s Corporate and Real Estate areas. Michael is a 1993 cum laude graduate of South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, where he served as Lead Articles Editor for the International Law Journal, was a member of the Order of the Lytae and recipient of the Annual Fund Scholarship. Additionally, he received American Jurisprudence Awards for his academic achievement in Civil Procedure, Contracts, Legal Research and Writing, and Professional Ethics. He received his B.B.A. from the University of Oklahoma in 1989, where he majored in Business Management, was a member of the Order of Omega and the Campus Activities Council, and was selected as one of ten outstanding seniors in his graduating class. Michael has represented parties in partnership and corporate formation, merger and reorganization proceedings, as well as representing individuals and businesses in various commercial real estate investment transactions and lease negotiations. Michael is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Texas and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, as well as the United States Tax Court. Michael is also Board Certified in both Commercial Real Estate and Residential Real Estate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
