Bill is a founder and principal of the Firm and oversees the Firm's Estate Planning, Probate and Tax areas. He does considerable work in the Firm's Corporate areas as well.

Bill graduated in 1982 from Baylor University School of Law where he was the recipient of the Pakis, Cherry, Beard and Giotes award as the outstanding student in the tax and corporate area. He received his B.B.A. in accounting from Texas Tech University in 1977 where he graduated cum laude.

Prior to entering law school, he worked as a public accountant with the firm of Alford Meroney & Co. in Dallas, Texas, receiving his Certified Public Accountant designation in 1980. Bill is Board Certified in both Tax Law and Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

He has served as counsel to numerous businesses and individuals in planning and implementing overall business goals and specific tax-oriented plans, combining his knowledge of tax and corporate law with an understanding of the impact of such plans on financial statements and cash flow. He has planned and probated many estates considering the tax impact, probate constraints and personal desires of his clients to achieve results which minimize tax consequences while maximizing asset control. He has lectured, and continues to lecture, at numerous seminars on various topics in the tax, estate planning and probate areas. Bill is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Texas, United States Tax Court, United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and was recently recognized as the Professional of the Year by the Community Foundation of North Texas.

In addition to his legal career, Bill served on the Board of Women's Haven of Tarrant County between the years of 1986 through 1993 and as President in 1991. He also has served on the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Arlington and has actually been a "Big Brother" since 2000. Additionally, Bill has been very active in his church, North Davis Church of Christ, since 1977 where he has taught Bible classes to college students and other adults, and served as a deacon from 1982 until 2004, at which time he began serving as an elder. Bill and his wife, Paula, have two daughters, Jessica and Taylor.

Michael practices in the Firm's Corporate and Real Estate areas. Michael is a 1993 cum laude graduate of South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, where he served as Lead Articles Editor for the International Law Journal, was a member of the Order of the Lytae and recipient of the Annual Fund Scholarship. Additionally, he received American Jurisprudence Awards for his academic achievement in Civil Procedure, Contracts, Legal Research and Writing, and Professional Ethics. He received his B.B.A. from the University of Oklahoma in 1989, where he majored in Business Management, was a member of the Order of Omega and the Campus Activities Council, and was selected as one of ten outstanding seniors in his graduating class. Michael has represented parties in partnership and corporate formation, merger and reorganization proceedings, as well as representing individuals and businesses in various commercial real estate investment transactions and lease negotiations. Michael is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Texas and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, as well as the United States Tax Court. Michael is also Board Certified in both Commercial Real Estate and Residential Real Estate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.


Mike practices in the areas of estate tax planning and probate, as well as in the corporate transactions area. Mr. Sweet is a graduate of the University of Tulsa School of Law where he served as Managing Editor of the Tulsa Law Review, was the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for his academic achievement in Commercial Law, and was named to the Dean’s Honor Roll each year. Mr. Sweet attended Utah State University on a golf scholarship where he earned a B.A. in Accounting in 1994, and an M.B.A. in 1996. Mr. Sweet became licensed as a C.P.A. in 1997, and his prior work experience includes time spent in the area of financial accounting and consulting for Fortune 100 companies on a variety of corporate, tax, and transactional matters, and advising individual clients regarding income, and estate and gift tax planning. Mr. Sweet is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
 



Mathew practices in the areas of estate planning and probate, as well as in the corporate transactions area. He is a 1998 graduate of Baylor University School of Law where he excelled in estate planning and business law courses, achieved the Highest Grade award in Alternate Dispute Resolution, and interned for Federal Magistrate Dennis Green. He attended The University of Texas at Austin where he earned a liberal arts degree in 1995 and made the Dean's List on multiple occasions. Mathew is a seasoned litigator and has successfully tried several cases to verdict. He also has several years of experience providing business planning advice and counsel to small to mid-sized entities and estate planning and wealth preservation advice to families and individuals. Prior to joining the firm, Mathew owned and operated a successful law practice and also founded and presided over a fast-growing credit solutions business. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
